Hi guys! This is the first blog of my Software Engineering class.
Where did you grow up? I grew up basically everywhere! I was born in the Philippines, but I moved to the US when I was 7 years old. I have lived in Mississippi, Alabama, and finally Texas.
What high school did you attend? Little Elm High School.
Why did you come to UT? I came here because it was the best university in Texas, and I wanted to attend a school outside Dallas.
Why are you in this class? I have always wanted to create an application myself. Plus, I hope to use some of the projects I have made to include in my resume.
What are your expectations of this class? I hope to gain a lot of experience creating software and seeing if this is something I want to do.
How much Javascript/Python/SQL/Web programming do you already know? I know Python very well, some SQL, and barely Javascript and Web programming.
How did you like the two lectures? I thought it was very engaging and fun.
How did you feel about the cold calling? A little nervous about it, to be honest. I’m a little afraid of Prof. Downing calling me and I’m in the bathroom or something. Other than that, I welcome it because it keeps me focused on the lecture.
What made you happy this week? The Presidential Inauguration going well without a hitch. I was worried that something was going to go wrong. Fortunately, we have now a president that hopefully will make politics boring again.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? The pic-of-the-week has gotta be Bernie just sitting down with his jacket and mittens:
